Hi Greg, How did you cet the top and bottom stopped rabbets for the top and bottom, in the front and rear rails? I am trying my stanley 45, no good.. chisel seems the logical choice but time is the enemy of effeciency. Cheers, Tony
I plowed as much as I could and then used a chisel for the rest. It doesn’t take as long as you think it would once you get going. Knife the walls and then use the chisel (bevel down) to plow out the waste. Alternate between knifing the walls and plowing with the chisel and it goes pretty quickly. Be sure to chop out (like a mortise) the ends of the groove first. This will prevent you going too far when plowing out the waste with the chisel.
