End Tables Part 5

OK, table base #2 is in the clamps.  Everything went fairly smooth today as I prepared the rails and fitted the tenons.  That was until I started to glue up.  I was running out of day and broke cardinal rule #1.  NEVER RUSH.

The glue up itself went well.  However, when I went to verify square I spotted my error.  Take a look at the photo of the inside of the top end rail.  Notice anything missing?  Yep, you guessed it.  No turn button mortises.  CRAP!  So tomorrow I will reinforce rule #1 while I balance the table base on its end and try to chop the missing turn button mortises.

Its not the end of the world, just a minor setback.  I knew I was getting too cocky and something would take me down a notch.

  1. A minor hiccup and easily corrected. At least you have the room to swing a mallet while you chop the mortises.

Yep, its an easy fix. Aggravated with myself that I made the error though.

If you don't comment this is just a fancy way for me to talk to myself.
